Put simply, Kontaveit must reach the final of the WTA Transylvanian Open to qualify for the WTA final. Therefore, nothing less than the finalist will give Jabeur a ticket to Guadalajara. So far, the 25-year-old Estonian has made it through the first round and is in the last 16.

Interestingly, Anett Kontaveit made a complete turnaround in the second half of the 2021 season. She even won three WTA titles in the past 60 days. As a result, the Estonian has taken a leap forward in the race and is now 139 points behind Ons Jabeur.

Likewise, the Squid Game-inspired meme showed Jabeur to be the last challenge for Kontaveit. In response, the Tunisian professional burst into laughter, declaring, “I can not”. The meme accurately depicts the current storyline of the WTA Finals Race.

Jabeur has performed incredibly throughout the 2021 season. She even became the first Arab tennis player to enter the sport’s Top 10. Therefore, she is in a better position to qualify although she does not play in Courmayeur.
